A tale as old as time came to life at Newnham Middle School in Bedford, when pupils staged their very own interpretation of Beauty and the Beast.
The innovative production, set in present day London, added a vibrant new look to this traditional tale yet still included all the songs and characters of the original providing a wonderful experience for the audience and the cast.
Ruth Wilkes, head teacher at Newnham is proud that the school has delivered another stunning performance following the successes of previous years.
She said: “At Newnham we really value and enjoy the arts. The production of Beauty and the Beast provided a terrific opportunity for pupils to express themselves through music, acting and dance as well as in the technical aspects of theatre production.
“We are fortunate to have a wonderful music department and to be able to call upon our talented and dedicated former pupil and performing arts undergraduate Luke Skeel to direct our hugely entertaining school productions. We’re already looking forward to next year!”
