Bedford landmark pub, The Embankment, has undergone a few changes in the past few weeks - a new look, new manager and new programme of food events.
With the smell of fresh paint just fading away, the bar and eating area have been completely transformed with chic shades of grey and colourful new furnishings.
Manager Ben Paul has been at the helm for just four weeks, having previously run The Black Horse, in Woburn.
He said: “It’s all-change here with a fresh, sparkly spruce up in the bar and eatery and we’re thrilled to bits with our new appearance.”
Head chef Sam Collins is busy preparing a new spring menu, tasting events and cookery masterclasses.
He joined the riverside pub after working with celebrity chef Mark Hix in his London restaurant.
Sam said: “We change the seasonal menu four times a year, but the special menu changes daily.
“There is a spring menu taster night in March, and I am hosting a lamb masterclass in May.
“The masterclasses are designed to show it’s not as difficult as it seems to prepare things like rabbit, fish and lamb but lots of people are scared to try.”
