New High Sheriff to be installed

LUTON businessman Jack Sapsworth MBE will be installed as High Sheriff of Bedfordshire at a special ceremony at Putteridge Bury tomorrow (March 30).

He takes over the historic post from Andrew Slack and will be responsible for supporting visiting royalty as well as the police and emergency services.

In addition he will involved in crime reduction initiatives and promoting the voluntary sector.

Jack said: “I am very honoured to be chosen. It will be a privilege to represent such an important county of great variety and different needs.”

His theme for the year will be taken from Rotary International - Service above self.

The father-of-three and Hatters fan is a staunch supporter of Keech Hospice Care and homeless charity Signposts (Luton).
