Train firm Govia is being taken to task by MPs over poor performance and delays since taking over responsibility for Thameslink.

MP for North East Bedfordshire Alistair Burt has taken part in meetings, which have included the Secretary of State for Transport, and there will be a further meeting with Rail Minister Clare Perry within the next couple of weeks.

Mr Burt said: “Passengers pay well for the services from Bedfordshire, and the performance from when Govia took over has been disappointing. It is important that they know how strongly passengers feel. Of particular annoyance has been the lack of information about sudden changes to services, and the failure to deal more effectively with driver training absences.”
