MP Burt pays tribute to Baroness Thatcher

North-East Beds MP Alistair Burt has paid tribute to former Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher, who passed away at the age of 87 on Monday (April 8).

Mr Burt said Lady Thatcher, who had suffered a stroke leaves ‘an indelible impression on the country and on British politics.”

He added: “Being fortunate to have seen her at work, I have memories of both public and private time, of her kindness and her toughness.

“It is a measure of her achievement that her name alone is a reference point for a British era, but we should not forget that with her part in the ending of the Cold War she also made the world a safer place.

“Genuinely there will be nobody like her ever again.”
