Newnham Middle School is celebrating some of the best SATS results that it has ever received.
Head teacher Ruth Wilkes says she is delighted by the results that reflect the superb efforts of everyone at the school.
She said: “Our Key Stage 2 SATs results 2014 were among the best we have ever had at Newnham. We were delighted by the response and received a telephone call from Richard Fuller MP congratulating the staff and pupils on all their hard work.
“These results are a great testament to the dedication of our team and the enthusiasm for learning of our pupils and their families.”
The results included:
91% of our pupils reached the national expectation of level 4 or
better in maths with hugely improved scores in reading too.
37% of pupils exceeded this expectation in maths and in writing with over 47% attaining at Level 5 in reading.
80% of pupils achieved Level 4 or better in every element of the test (reading, writing and maths) which is a good indicator for future success at GCSE A*-C and represents the school’s best ever result in this measure.
The schools’ Average Points Score is significantly higher than the national average and compares to the very best of schools locally.
