TV presenter Melinda Messenger is fronting a campaign to find the best landscaping job in Bedford.
Timber and builders merchants Travis Perkins are launching High 5, a campaign to celebrates Britain’s best professional landscaping.
Entries are being sought from Bedford to be judged by a panel of experts to be in with a chance of being awarded Best Landscape Job in the South of England.
The best of the best in Scotland, Wales, Northern, Central and Southern England will form the Travis Perkins High 5.
Each member of High 5 will win a weekend away for two and a will receive a personal High 5 from Channel 5 Cowboy Builders presenter Melinda at a celebratory lunch at Kensington Roof Gardens in September 2015.
Melinda said: “Over the years, I’ve had brilliant experiences of tradesmen working with me.
“Yet there are so many cowboy tradesmen out there. I’m working with Travis Perkins on the High 5 project to find the people who are getting it right and show everyone just how valuable the landscape gardener is in making Britain a green and pleasant land.”
Among the criteria the judges will be looking at is whether the space is used imaginatively, innovation, creativity and imagination.
There will also have to be a mix of textures and materials that work well together and it should be low maintenance but done well.
The deadline for nominations is August 17 and landscapers can encourage clients to nominate them by handing out nomination cards which area available from Travis Perkins’ Bedfor branch on Willow Road.
