The five declared candidates standing in the Bedford mayoral election are preparing for a hustings.

Tim Douglas (Lab), Ben Foley (Green), Dave Hodgson (Lib-Dem), Steve Lowe (Independent) and Jas Parmar (Con) will be addressing the Mature Citizens’ Action Group on Monday, March 16.

They will outline their vision for the town and taking questions from the floor about future policy. Visitors are welcome to attend from 9.30am, at the Salvation Army Hall, Commercial Road.

On May 7, Bedford residents will be issued five ballot papers, the highest number in the country.

As well as voting in the General Election, there is the borough council, parish council, and mayoral elections, and the referendum for the raise in the Police council tax precept.
