New classroom facilities have been officially unveiled in Oakley.
Staff, governors and children at Oakley Lower School were delighted to welcome Mayor Dave Hodgson for the official opening of their new classrooms.
The new modular build comprising of four classrooms and a group teaching area was installed to replace the temporary classrooms at the school.
The project was funded by Bedford Borough Council School Capital Investment Plan along with fundraising by the school.
Sarah Lovett, headteacher, thanked the council and many individuals, businesses and organisations who had supported the school to help provide a spacious, modern and comfortable learning environment for the children.
Funding for the final part of the project, a canopy for outdoor play, was achieved through a grant from Awards For All.
More funds were raised by parents, governors and friends at the school doing a sponsored bike ride from London to Brighton.
