The Mayor spent time with the cubs answering their questions on everything from what his favourite meal is to how many women mayor’s there have been.

At the end of the session cub leader Chris Ashdown presented the Mayor with his own Putnoe Scouts necker and his official badges. The Mayor was sworn into the cub pack in a short ceremony, much to the enjoyment of the assembled children.

Chris said: “We were delighted that the Mayor accepted our invitation to become an honorary leader of the Putnoe Scout Group and it was super to present him with his own necker.

“It was a great experience for the cubs and we would like to thank the Mayor and his assistant Alec for their time and the warm welcome they gave us.”
