Man threatened with knife during aggravated burglary in Bedford

A man was threatened with a knife and punched in the face by two men in balaclavas during an aggravated burglary.

The attack happened at around 7.45pm on Friday March 18, in Mitford Close, Bedford. The victim was leaving his house via his back garden when two men wearing black clothing and balaclavas forced him back inside.

He was threatened with a knife and punched a number of times in the face before the offenders stole jewellery, a watch, car keys and a bag containing bank cards and cash. They then made off down the road on foot.

DC Claire Long, investigating, said: “This is believed to be a targeted incident. It was a nasty attack on the victim who suffered cuts and bruising to his face. We are very keen to speak to anyone who may have seen two men wearing dark clothing - one of whom is described as having ginger eyebrows - acting suspiciously in the area at the time.”
