Man suffers serious injuries in A6 crash near Silsoe

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision this morning.

Emergency serices were called at around 6.20am to reports of a head-on crash near Silsoe between a motorcycle and a white Vauxhall Combo van.

Officers and East of England Ambulance service attended and three people were taken to hospital, a man and a woman who are believed to have minor injuries and a man who has suffered serious injuries.

Sgt John Poppleton said: “We’re appealing for anyone who was travelling along the A6 prior to the incident who may have witnessed these vehicles to get in touch.

“In particular we’d like to speak to the driver of a coach which was seen travelling along the road in the half hour before the collision.”

The road has now re-opened.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting Operation Agbrigg.
