A man discovered dead in the river at Bedford just days before Christmas has been named.
Sebastian Sobol, 36, of no fixed abode, was pronounced dead after being recovered from the river along The Embankment on the afternoon of Sunday, December 20.
The cause of death, subject to confirmation at a full inquest hearing to be held at a later date, has been recorded as asphyxia and drowning.
An inquest into Mr Sobol’s death is due to be opened by the coroner for Bedfordshire on Thursday (December 31).
The death is not being treated as suspicious by police.
