Man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following death of cyclist on A421

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal road traffic collision on the A421 yesterday (Tuesday).

The 66-year-old man, from Colchester, was also arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision and failing to report an accident.

He has been bailed by police until December pending further investigation.

The victim was believed to have been cycling along the A421 between the junctions for the A600 and the A6 when he was struck by a vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
