Man, 19, beaten unconscious by gang with iron bars and baseball bats

A 19-year-old man was attacked and knocked unconscious by a group of men armed with iron bars and baseball bats.

The incident happened sometime between 11pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday, August 5 as the victim was making his way home along Brecon Way. Two cars – believed to be a

dark BMW Mini and a silver Vauxhall Astra – drove past the victim and turned into Aspen Avenue. As the victim got to the junction of Brecon Way and Aspen Avenue, he was attacked by a group of men who struck him repeatedly to the head and body with baseball bats and iron bars.

The victim fell to the floor and the offenders ran away and got into the two cars before driving towards Putnoe Lane and then Putnoe Street.

The victim who lost consciousness during the attack was taken to Bedford Hospital for

treatment to cuts and bruises to his face, head and body.

All of the offenders were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. Two of the offenders wore ski masks which had ‘skeleton’ style prints on them.
