The heady world of the London fashion scene is calling for artist Sue Hall, who has provided the inspiration for an up-and-coming designer’s latest range.
The concept for Gina Cusachs Trias’s forthcoming collection will be unveiled at a catwalk premiere being held on Friday, March 27, at 93 Feet East in the capital’s trendy art hub of Brick Lane.
Several of Sue’s dramatic, colourful abstract paintings will be projected in giant scale onto the plain white clothes of the models to give buyers the chance to see what the eventual garments will look like.
Sue, of Thor Drive, said: “The collaboration came about because Gina and I are both members of a London art collective called The Cult House, which sets up events and exhibitions all over the city.
“Gina approached me a less than a fortnight ago to say she loved my work and it was perfect for her next collection. She asked if I would be interested in collaborating with her and we met last week to finalise the details.”
It’s been a busy month for Sue as she has also made her first foray into the United States art market. One of her works was included in an auction for an art charity in Ohio, and The Atkinson O’Rourke gallery in Chicago is now exhibiting two of her paintings. She also has works on sale in Lisbon, Portugal and central London.
Online store zazzle.co.uk is selling a variety of items from cushions to iPhone covers and jigsaws in Sue’s own virtual store, and a video showreel on YouTube is rapidly gathering views and positive comments.
