With the nights drawing in and a chill in the air some might be feeling somewhat glum – but Castle Comedy is at hand to banish the winter blues.

Veteran comedian Liverpudlian-in-exile Silky will be headlining at The Ent Shed on Thursday, November 13.

He has been a comedian for half of his life and has performed all over the world, appeared on numerous television shows including Paramount’s The World Stands Up and has his own successful comedy club chain.

Another claim to fame is that he has been the warm-up man for BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.

In his own words he does ‘jokes and songs’ and what everyone else says is that he’s just about the best in the business.

Also on the bill at The Gordon Arms venue in Castle Road, Bedford, are Simon Fielder and Sy Thomas, who are the stars of the cult internet show Life of Si.

They are performing individually as they are both hugely talented stand-ups.

Simon is a former weather presenter for the Big Breakfast who has reached the finals of numerous comedy competitions, while Sy started off as a children’s television presenter for Nickelodean before presenting two series of CITV’s gadgets and games show The Cool Stuff Collective.

His show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was widely acclaimed. MC is Castle Comedy regular and the Bath Comedy Festival New Act of the Year Paul Revill.

Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets cost £8, £5 NUS or £15, which includes a pre-show meal and glass of wine at the Gordon Arms. Call 07736 060541, email or visit
