The latest politician to join the race for MP in North East Beds has been announced.
Liberal Democrat Peter Morris will be going up against Tory Alistair Burt, Labour’s Saqhib Ali and Adrianne Smyth from UKIP.
Prospective parliamentary candidate Mr Morris, who had worked in valuation and land management, said: “I am delighted to be standing for the Liberal Democrats in North East Bedfordshire. Liberal Democrats have achieved many things in government including cutting tax for millions through the increased personal allowance, delivering the Pupil Premium, and securing a ‘triple lock’ on pensions.
“Liberal Democrat- led Bedford Borough Council has been working on behalf of local residents to freeze council tax, protect frontline services and deliver for the future.
“I will work with the elected Mayor for Bedford Borough, local councillors and local campaigners to continue to deliver great things for North East Bedfordshire.”
