If you’ve ever fancied learning the ukelele, banging on African drums or joining a rock band, a new term of music session can help.
Across Bedfordshire, Saturday Morning Music Centres are starting the autumn term with a new timetable of lessons and activities designed for all ages.
The sessions are open to beginners and improvers, including pre-schoolers, and cover a wide range of instruments.
The Inspiring Music scheme is funded by Central Bedfordshire Council.
Executive member for children’s services Councillor Mark Versallion said: “We want to help people of all ages participate and enjoy making music.
“I’m proud that we have a local authority supporting these Saturday morning sessions when other parts of the country are cutting theirs.”
He added: “Central Bedfordshire Council believes in the personal and social value of music and these sessions are a great way to try new things and most of all have lots of fun.”
Sessions started on Saturday, September 13 and run from 9.15am to 12.30pm during term time. Centres include Ampthill Music Centre, Redborne Upper School, Flitwick Road, Ampthill, and Biggleswade Music Centre, Biggleswade Academy, Mead End, Biggleswade.
Membership costs £78, for a three-hour weekly session, or £52 for a half session per term, if paid by direct debit.
