Police are appealing for witnesses after a significant amount of jewellery was stolen during a burglary in Bedford.
A house in Alburgh Close was broke into between 9am on Thursday, September 3, and 10.50am on Friday.
Items of jewellery stolen included a distinctive gold ring which had a flower pattern arranged in diamonds on it, and an emerald in the centre.
PC Ryan Barnes, investigating, said: “To have your home violated in this way is always distressing, made even more so by the sentimental value of the items which have been stolen.
“I’d appeal for anyone who may have seen something suspicious during this time to contact us.
“I’d also remind people to be vigilant when it comes to protecting their houses; always make sure you’ve locked all window and doors and security mark valuable items to make them easier to trace.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Barnes on 101, text 07786 200 011, or call Crimestoppers, completely anonymously, on 0800 555 111. For more crime prevention advice visit www.bedfordshire.police.uk
