The next Bedford Arms Monday night jazz session welcomes pianist Rupert Cox.

After an incredibly busy and buzzing first night with Nigel Price performing at the Bedford Arms, No.2 Bromham road last Monday the next gig in the series is also going to be a fine display of musicianship.

Rupert Cox is currently studying at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London and shall be making his Bedford Arms debut on Monday, January 12.

Aside from his studies he is a busy performing freelance musician, has his own originals project, and also holds the Piano chair for The National Youth Jazz Orchestra who have just finished a three night slot at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.

Joining Rupert will be fellow NYJO bassist Joe Downard and local drummer and host Mark Hale.

Mark said: “The piano trio is a very special line up, there have been many influential recordings made from Bud Powell, Ahmad Jamal to modern day musicians such as Brad Mehldau. It’s exciting to invite these great musicians down to perform some great Standards in the Piano Trio line up!”
