A duo who preyed on a teenage schoolboy and robbed him have been jailed today (Friday).
The victim was walking along Midland Road in Bedford on February 13 when he was approached by Corelle Joyce, 23.
She lured him back to a property, where he was robbed of his money by Vinjay Badhan, 41.
Investigating officer Ewan Colquhoun said: “This was a vicious incident in which a vulnerable boy was cruelly robbed and left feeling understandably scared and traumatised, so I’m delighted that the courts have issued a stern sentence to the dangerous duo.
“We take all reports of robbery very seriously and are committed to reducing our robbery rates and ensuring that those who do commit this type of crime are dealt with appropriately, as part of our aim to keep the people of Bedfordshire safe.”
Joyce and Badhan, both of Alexander Road, Bedford, were jailed for 18 months and three years respectively at Luton Crown Court.
