A Bromham runner has donated more than 150 of her trophies, collected over three decades, to Bedford-based charity SportsTraider.
Veronica ‘Ron’ Singleton-Lawley, 54, who ran her first marathon in 1982, said: “At last year’s River Festival I was lucky enough to meet its founder Lance Haggith. He’s such a hardworking, inspirational guy and his staff are so enthusaistic it made it easy.
“I’m passionate about sport, and helping the disadvantaged, so I knew SportsTraider was a charity I wanted to support.
“I hope that schools, clubs and charities will grab themselves a bargain to use at their own event.” Founded in 2009, SportsTraider supports grassroots and community sports projects. Its next fixture is Hoops Aid at the 02 Arena on Sunday (May 10) with basketball, celebrities, Paralympians and war heroes. > For tickets and more information visit http://bit.ly/1DOONDf
