An investigation has been launched after a car was set on fire in Bedford in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue were called to reports of a car fire just after 2am this morning, in All Saints Road, Bedford.

A spokesperson for Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue said: "The fire involved several cars, one of which was 100 per cent engulfed by fire and two other vehicles had minor damage.

"One conservatory was also affected with minor damage from the flames.

"One crew from Bedford attended and extinguished the fire using one hosereel.

"The fire was believed to have been deliberate.

"If anyone has further information on this incident, we would encourage them to contact Bedfordshire Police."

Police were called by the fire service at around 2.10am and are investigating the incident.

Officers attended the scene and an enquiry is ongoing.
