Inquest opens following death of man in Venezuela

AN inquest has opened into the death of a Bedford man who was killed while on holiday in Venezuela.

The HM Coroner’s Office in Bedford has opened the inquest following the death of Thomas Ossel, 28, of Ashmead Road.

Mr Ossel died after being shot during a robbery at the Posada Casa Rosa guest house on Margarita Island on July 18.

The office has listed the causes of death as hypovolaemic shock, acute internal bleeding and a cardio pulmonary laceration due to a gunshot wound.

A date for the hearing has yet to be set.
