A couple have made a desperate plea to find their runaway cat in time to celebrate their first anniversary.
Missing feline Francis is very much at the heart of owner Alex Gatton and veterinary nurse Ellie Gill’s relationship after they fell in love over the examination table.
Ellie said: “Francis is incredibly special to us, it was him that brought us together almost a year ago.
“After moving to Bedfordshire in September 2013, Alex bought a kitten to keep him company. He brought him to the vets where I work for his vaccinations.
“Alex and I got talking and the rest is history, and for him to not be with us on the anniversary of our first meeting is heart-breaking.”
Francis disappeared three weeks ago and has been spotted in a number of villages in Bedfordshire. The couple think he is trying to get from Ridgmont, where he has been staying at Ellie’s house, to Greenfield, where Alex lives.
Ellie said: “We bought him to Ridgmont after he kept running in front of cars at Alex’s.
“We kept him in for two weeks and at first he was fine going out. Then, one day he didn’t come back.
“We’ve put up posters and notices through doors, and are offering a £250 reward. We desperately want to find him, and hope readers can help. ”
Francis is a grey and silver tabby with distinctive markings. Call Ellie on 0770 8880160, or Alex on 0776 6224636 with any information. Sightings can also be reported to Greensands Vets on 01908 282101.
