Hunt goes on for knife attacker after brutal Kempston street assault

Two young men are lucky to be alive after they were the victims of a vicious stabbing attack.

The pair - aged 20 and 18 - remained in hospital this week following the assault during the early evening of last Thursday.

One of the victims suffered a punctured lung with the knife coming dangerously close to his heart during the attack in Hartwell Drive, Kempston, while the other was left with several stab wounds and other serious injuries.

Police are still hunting the person responsible for the stabbings, which happened at around 7.20pm.

Officers were called to reports of a large number of men who appeared to be fighting in the road.

Following the stabbings they fled from the scene in different directions.

The victims was taken by ambulance to hospital.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said: “No arrests have been made and bot of the victims are recovering well. They are no longer in a serious condition. Investigations are still ongoing.”
