Bedford Hospital hosted a visit by Health Minister Dr Daniel Poulter MP.
Dr Poulter, also an NHS doctor, has a number of responsibilities at the department, including maternity, children’s health, workforce and health education and training.
He spent about half an hour in the hospital’s Riverbank Children’s Unit, where he met staff, patients and parents, on Thursday, October 16. He was joined by Bedford and Kempston MP Richard Fuller.
Stephen Conroy, hospital chief executive, said: “This visit was an opportunity for the minister to see for himself the transformational change that has been achieved within our paediatric service since 2013, with increased consultant cover, improved pathways of care, and shorter length of stays for patients.”
