Grant funding success for fire service in Bedfordshire

GOVERNMENT funding totalling £3.2 million has been secured by Beds and Luton Fire and Rescue.

The cash will enable the service to replace its mobilising system and retain its control centre in Bedford.

BLFRS’s Chief Fire Officer Paul Fuller said: “The funding will provide state of the art technology to improve how we receive 999 calls and mobilise appropriate resources to the communities we serve in a faster and more effective way, leading to improvements in the safety of our fire fighters.”
