A new High Street pub that is a haven for craft beer lovers has opened in Bedford.
The old historic Bear pub has been refurbished by new owners Hawthorn Leisure and renamed the Artisan Tap.
It opened on Friday and an official VIP launch party is being held tomorrow evening (Thursday).
Company business manager Stuart Kirkham said: “We are excited to be re-opening this High Street gem of a pub as our carefully crafted Artisan Tap.
“The hand-craft concept is perfect for visitors, business people, students, shoppers and locals looking for a great weekend out.”
The bar will rotate its range of locally and globally sourced craft beers, which currently includes the fittingly festive Rocking Rudolph.
A range of 40 bottled craft beets are displayed in room height ‘honest fridges’ with products such as Brewdog’s Dead Pony Pale Ale, multi-award winner Stevens Point Amber Lager, wheat beer Erdinger, and unfiltered blond beer La Chouffe.
Frizzante, the new Italian Sparkling wine poured direct from the keg is also available, along with wines, spirits and cocktails.
The bar is open from mid-morning for coffees and food is available all day.
