It’s time to don your high heels and take a stroll around Bedford Park this summer.

Nothing unusual in that you may think - until you take a second look and realise that all the competitors are men!

They will all be wearing ladies shoes and the man out front will be Bedford Mayor Dave Hodgson!

Walk A Mile In Her Shoes is a sponsored one mile amble in aid of Bedford Daycare Hospice and will take place on Sunday, August 24.

It is hoped to build on the success of last year which saw the magnificent sum of £12,500 being raised with support from the Times & Citizen and Wilson Peacock Lettings.

Babs Astle, hospice fundraising manager, said: “The event will raise sponsorship and awareness for all our ladies suffering the effects of cancer who use our facilities here at Gladys Ibbett House.

“We would love to see as many of you as possible support this wonderful cause – either getting your man to take part, sponsoring a friend or by coming along on the day, bring a picnic and cheering them all on!”

If you think your man could complete this challenge or you are a man wanting to support your local hospice then contact Bedford Daycare Hospice now for your registration pack on 01234 352015.
