The world outdoor premiere of an adaption of Macbeth was a sell-out success in Bedford Park.
Oddsocks Productions’ musical version of Shakespeare’s tale of ambition turned bad was a comedy retelling, complete with steampunk costumes.
Company director Andy Barrow said: “Shakespeare’s work lends itself to interpretation and we are convinced that this very entertaining adaptation will bring many newcomers into the Shakespeare fold.”
The show was hosted by Pavilion in the Park. Proprietor Emma Garrett said after last year’s outdoor performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, they were “keen to develop the Shakespeare in the Park concept further”.
