A four day festival will include live music, fun fair rides, exhibits, stalls, food and beer at Thurleigh.
Starting on Thursday, August 13, much of Thurfest Beer and Music Festival will be dedicated to folk music with multiple stages under the banner of Thurfolk.
MC for the event will be Roger Butler from one man band Chucklefoot.
The festival will culminate on the Sunday evening (August 16) with a Mad Hatters tea party, which will be opened by Mayor of Bedford Borough Dave Hodgson and people are encouraged to don fancy dress.
Thurfolk - the folk music part of the festival at Scald End Farm, Mill Road - has been organised by the Crediton Folk Weekend, normally in Devon, which is more than 20 years old.
Tickets cost £5 a day and camping is £10 per person for the whole weekend and under 16s go free.
