Firefighters raise more than £200 working at the car wash

Drivers who left a firefighters' car wash with a gleaming vehicle helped raise more than £200 for charity.

Kempston Community Fire Station full-time and on-call crews were joined by Fire Cadets during Saturday’s two-hour event, which put £217.10 into the Firefighters’ Charity pot.

Kempston Firefighter Graham Calver said: “We didn’t have a five-minute break in the two hours the car wash was running and actually ended up working a bit longer due to a late surge of cars.

“In total we washed over 30 cars and raised £217.10. Great effort from all involved.”
