The Fire Queen will be giving some spectacular entertainment at this year’s Kimbolton Country Fayre.
Set in the glorious grounds of Kimbolton Castle, the family day of fun returns on Sunday, July 12
This will be the 23rd event and welcomes The Fire Queen which promises to be a nail-biting experience in the main ring.
After its debut two years ago Millers Ark Pet Zoo returns which has many animals to see, stroke or cuddle and also back is Royston the children’s entertainer.
New for this year is the AstroGlide, providing an exhilarating experience for all ages.
Favourites such as the Duston German Shepherd Dog team and Lord John Robartes Regiment of Foote and Horse make an appearance.
One of the largest country fayres in the area it is packed with an a full range of entertainment, including 700 classic cars, more than 80 stall holders, stage and ring events, music from the Galaxy Swing Band, dancing and various rides, to mention a few. There will be beer and tea marquees, homemade cakes and sandwiches, other food stalls including a hog roast, burger bar, fish and chips and ice creams.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is set to stage a fly past by two World War II Spitfires to end the day.
A spokesman for the fayre said: “The Rotary Club of Kimbolton Castle and The Sporting Bears Motor Club are joint organisers of the event and there is as always an enormous commitment from our members and other local Rotary clubs in time and energy to make sure that everybody enjoys themselves and that the money we collect for the charities we support makes a difference to many children’s lives.
“Last year we were able to distribute just under £15,000 to local charities and this year we hope to do at least the same supporting Sailability, East Anglian Children’s Hospice, Burns Camp, Samuel Pepys, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Burns Camp and Hemi Help. We look forward to welcoming you on the day!”
Gates open at 11am, the main show ring events start from noon.
Admission is adult £10, family £25, children (5-16) £5, Under 5s free.
