The first Christmas fayre held at Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice has raised £5,000.
The event was held on Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29 and saw around 400 visitors through the hospice, visiting 20 stalls and attractions, and the grotto.
Stalls included gifts, crafts, jewellery as well as food stalls, snacks, homemade cake, mulled wine and mince pies.
Visitors could also enjoy tombolas, raffles and could meet Santa Claus where they made reindeer food, cards and asked the big man any important questions.
Fay Boissieux, event organiser at St John’s Hospice said: “It was a great day and raised money for a great cause. People braved the wind and rain to come and support their local hospice and provide children and adults with a happy and memorable experience.
“No event would be possible without the people of Bedfordshire or for that matter without the help and support of all the fantastic volunteers and staff who gave up their time on to get the event ready and help on the day.”
