Executive director of private hospital retires after 33 years in the business
Anne McGregor, who has been the executive director at BMI The Manor Hospital for the last 20 years, has seen more than 400,000 patients through the door during her time at the helm.
Anne joined BMI as a ward nurse in 1983 and was promoted to executive director in 1996 and part of her role has been fundraising for local charities, most recently raising £2,679.33 for Bedfordshire’s air ambulance.

Hide AdAnne said: “I have no idea where the last 33 years have gone. When I started at the Manor my girls were four and five years of age - they are now married with three children each!
“I came to the Manor as a bank nurse doing one night a week and have seen the Manor through changes of ownerships, changes to facilities, changes to consultants and staff.
“The Manor also gave me the opportunity to return to formal studies at the age of 40 to gain management qualifications to enable me to take on the ED role 20 years ago.
Anne added: “I have enjoyed the challenges at the Manor and the way that we work as a team for our patients. As with any organisation their most valuable asset is the staff and this is the part that I will miss the most.

Hide Ad“They are all individuals, have their own behaviours and personalities but there’s no doubting their commitment to ensuring the patients have good outcomes and their expectations are met.”
Mr Ajit Garde, consultant surgeon at BMI The Manor Hospital said: “I have known Anne for three years and it has been a pleasure working with her. She has been responsible for overall development and we will dearly miss her experience and leadership.
Anne’s replacement is Adrian Brady who brings 12 years experience working at Spire Healthcare.
He said: “I am very excited to being part of the team at BMI The Manor Hospital and continuing the excellent work that has been led by Anne.”
