Events celebrate campaigner

The life and campaigning of a human rights reformer in India and other countries is being celebrated in a number of events in Bedford.

Commemorating the 125th anniversary of the birth of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, and the centenary of him joining the London School of Economics, an exhibition was held at Bedford Library and is on display at Number 13, St Paul’s Square until Thursday, April 21. This will be followed by the main even at Bedford Corn Exchange on Sunday, May 1, 11am to 5pm.

Organised by the Ambedkar Mission Society Bedford, the events will highlight such campaigning as his work on the India’s Constitution adopted in 1950 which helped many in poverty. For further details on events contact Arun Kumar on 07909 828750.
