EVENING UPDATE: Less than 20 new confirmed cases in Bedford

As of yesterday (March 3), Bedford had recorded only 16 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,062 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths recorded in Bedford (477), Central Bedfordshire (562), or Luton (479).

Central Bedfordshire has 26 new Covid cases with a total of 15,171, while Luton recorded 28 with a new total of 18,974.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,229 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 74,312 and Milton Keynes has 19,184 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 6,385 and now stands at 4,194,785. The number of deaths has risen by 315 to 123,783.

As of March 2, in the UK, 20,703,615 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 895,412 had received their second dose.
