A village appears to be divided over plans to build an all-weather football pitch.
Lincroft Middle School, in Oakley, is hoping to create a 3G pitch on its new field to boost sporting opportuinities for young people in the village and beyond.
But a resident who feels the proposal is inapporopriate has set up an online survey which currently stands at 50 per cent for, and 50 per cent against the proposal.
Karen Davidson-Jeffs’s is concerned the pitch will cause disruption seven days a week.
She said: “This will cause light pollution from the floodlights, increased noise from adults playing football, and increased traffic all day, everyday, and until late in the evening.”
Lincroft head teacher Mark Duke said the pitch will be a great facility for local football clubs and the school, and will put in place measures to minimise light and noise pollution. He added the school car park provides ample space for users.
Planning permission is expected to be submitted by the middle of November.
