Police have issued an e-fit of a man they would like to talk to in connection with an attempted armed robbery of a Bedford convenience store.

A man entered Gill convenience store in Foster Hill Road at around 12.50pm on October 21 and demanded the shop assistant emptied the till.

The shop assistant refused to hand over the money and the man then brandished a gun, before making off on foot in the direction of Roff Avenue.

No-one was hurt and nothing was taken. The weapon which was used was later discovered to be an imitation firearm.

PC Emma Cook, investigating, said: “We have created an e-fit of the suspect based on the descriptions we have received. We hope that issuing this image will lead to a possible identification of the suspect, or reveal new information, which could assist us in the investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Cook on 101, or text 07786 200 011.
