Bedford Community Dodgeball Club is celebrating a £300 windfall.
The cash has comed from the MARS Milk Play Fund and will help set up a new team and support current players.
The club, which has 35 members, was set up three years ago by three university graduates who wanted to make dodgeball available to the local community. Open to all ages and abilities, the club has won the Dodgeball Premier League Double in both the men and women’s categories.
Johnathan Rudland, a Bedford Community Dodgeball Club player, says: “Our club aim is to make dodgeball more widely available for people in the area. As part of this we would like to set-up a junior team.
“This donation from the MARS Milk Play Fund will help us to cover the initial costs involved in setting up an additional team and supporting our current players.”
If you are interesting in joining Bedford Community Dodgeball Club the club are currently taking a summer break but will be starting training again in September. If you are interested contact the team at www.facebook.com/bedfordmightyeagles or by calling Charlotte Josiah on 0744 6958711.
