Called Military Medals & Books (Bedford) Ltd, it has cabinet spaces to rent, offers military research and gives all profits to Woody’s Lodge - a charity supporting veterans.

The person behind the idea is Chris Murphy, a businessman who has spent great part of his life collecting medals and militaria, as well as researching the story of the people behind these antiques.

“With years of personal military service and having built successful businesses in the UK and Europe, I can now devote my activities to support veterans across the UK”, said Chris.

The shop, at Deep Spinney, Biddenham, is run on a volunteer basis and is open Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

Woody’s Lodge is a charity helping veterans with housing, benefits, pensions and finance and NHS referrals, as well as with socialising and re-connecting with old friends and family.
