A group of cyclists from Bedford are preparing to take part in a major cycling event in Denmark.
Members of the Bonito Squadra Corse, sponsored by BBS Fleet Logistics of Milton Ernest, are to compete in the UCI Masters World Cycling Tour.
They achieved this after competing with 6,500 other cyclists in an 85-mile ‘Grand Fondo’ (closed road race) around Cambridgeshire, and the five team members who achieved the qualifying time have been invited to participate in the world championship race in September.
Keen cyclist Colin Cripps, who was one of the qualifiers, is managing director of BBS Fleet Logistics. He said: “It’s a great partnership for BBS as a business to be associated with this winning brand that has a growing national profile along with an Elite Ladies Team.
“The 100+ mile ride around Denmark will be a fantastic challenge on two wheels, and we will be supported by our BBS/ Bonito team car with Director Sportif Leo Bonito at the wheel.”
