A young woman was assaulted during a possible abduction attempt in Bedford early in the evening on Sunday, November 9.

PC Kerry Banks, investigating, said: “The woman was walking along Kimbolton Road, Bedford, at around 7pm.

“She was having problems with her mobile phone and walked towards the Church in Kimbolton Road to try to get reception. She was then grabbed by an unknown man who pulled her in the direction of a dark coloured car while having a shouted conversation with the driver of the car. “They were speaking a language the woman did not understand.

“The victim then managed to break free of the man falling to the ground as she did.

“Her attacker got into the dark car which has driven off down kimbolton Road away from the Town Centre.”
