A man has had his wallet stolen by distraction burglars after they tricked their way into his Sharnbrook home.

Two men knocked on the victim’s door near Hill Farm between 2.20pm and 2.40pm on Monday, September 14, and asked to use the toilet.

After they left the victim realised his wallet had been stolen.

Detective Constable Paul Breed said: “This was a very unpleasant incident in which the offenders have taken advantage of the victim’s vulnerability.

“I would urge anyone with any information as to who is responsible to call police.

“I would also encourage people to look out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours, to always challenge doorstep callers to provide identity documents and to never let them into your home.”

Anyone with any information should call DC Paul Breed on 101, text 07786 200 011, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
