Three teenagers arrested after spate of Bedford robberies

Three teenagers have been arrested after a spate of robberies in Bedford town centre last night.

An 18-year-old man, 16-year-old boy and 14-year-old boy were all arrested on suspicion of robbery as well as possession of an offensive weapon.

All three are currently in police custody.

Detective chief inspector Aaron Kiff said: “This sort of violent offending will not be tolerated on the streets of Bedfordshire.

“We are determined to root out and disrupt those involved in this sort of offending and help protect our communities.

“As well as making arrests and carrying out other enforcement, we are working with other agencies and our communities through the new Violence and Exploitation Reduction Unit to work with at-risk young people and show them an alternative path.”
