Suspect package found at Budgens in Bedfordshire village

Road was initially closed off in Maulden this morning - but package was harmless

Police were called to Budgens store in Ampthill Road, Maulden, this morning (May 24) after a suspect package was found.

As a precaution, the area was cordoned off, and road closure were put in place while officers from Bedfordshire Police investigated.

The road was reopened 50 mins later after the package was found to be harmless
