An obsessed fan convicted of stalking Eastenders actress Samantha Womack will be sentenced next month, the Times & Citizen can confirm.
Peter Rombough,22, of Ditchingham, Norfolk, visited the Cardington home of Mrs Womack on September 4 and delivered a note through her through her letterbox.
Five days later he was seen outside Mrs Womack’s home in the early hours of the morning, and the actress noticed his presence after he used a light on his phone.
Later that morning Mrs Womack’s husband Mark confronted the 22-year-old outside the home and asked him to leave.
Rombough sent the pair Twitter messages after he left that day, telling them that he never intended to cause alarm.
During a hearing at Luton Magistrates Court yesterday Rombough, who was wearing a suit and a tie, spoke only to confirm his name.
He pleaded guilty to stalking at an earlier hearing.
Rombough’s case has been referred to Great Yarmouth Magistrates for sentencing on November 16, to allow a local mental health team to make an assessment.
At the earlier hearing the court heard he admitted to the police that his fantasies about Samantha Womack had started in 2009 when he was 16.
He said he had an unhealthy crush on her that was out of control.
Prior to sentencing next month Rombough has been given conditional bail and must reside at his home address in Norfolk.
He has a curfew between 9pm and 6am each night and must report to Norwich Police Station once a week.
He is also ordered not to contact either Samantha or Mark Womack, or enter any part of Bedfordshire.
