A man who threatened a cashier in a newsagent robbery has been sentenced to more than a year in prison.
Martin Patmore, 26, of Astwood Drive, Flitwick, was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment at Luton Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday) after pleading guilty to the crime.
On April 3, Patmore went to Mace newsagents, in Windmill Road, Flitwick, and asked the cashier to open the till.
When the cashier refused, Patmore pushed him against a wall, opened the till, and stole approximately £200.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Surinder Ram said: “We’re delighted this offence was taken seriously and Patmore received a custodial sentence.
“Tackling robberies is a key priority for the force and we hope such a sentence acts as a warning to anyone who is tempted to carry out similar offences.”
